Carly Carron, owner and creator of Twisted Feather Designs, began creating in 2023. Coming out of the “newborn bubble’ with her 4th child, she had an overwhelming urge to create. Starting with wall hangings for her baby daughter’s bedroom, she began learning and experimenting with hand knotted designs (macrame) and played around with dip dying fibers.

She then applied these techniques to accessory making, like handbags and earrings (mostly that she wanted to wear herself). The more she learned, the more she wanted to create. And as she shared designs through her Instagram page, she started making sales and soon after began taking her designs out for trunk shows and pop ups, and eventually larger art festivals.

In order to elevate her handbags, she learned how to use a sewing machine to make liners. This new skill opened her up to a whole new world. Carly now continues to make her bestselling handbags and occasional custom wall art, and has now fallen in love with taking discarded fabrics like vintage table linens, bedding and men’s shirts and turning them into beautiful, one-of-a-kind, whimsical pieces that can be worn and loved for many years to come.
